Located at the base of Slieve Foy mountain, in the medieval village of Carlingford, County Louth, Celtic Clays ceramics studio and gallery produces some of the finest handthrown pottery that Ireland has to offer. As a visitor to the gallery you can browse in the beautifully appointed retail shop brimming with pots emblazoned with celtic design and glazed in rich, earthy colours. Climb the few steps to the landing and watch the work being made in the adjoining studio. If ceramics aren't your thing the gallery is also well stocked with a selection of other fine craftwork made in Ireland including candles, soaps, jewellery and there is always an exhibition of framed work for sale by some of Ireland's leading painters and print makers.
